A few weeks ago I turned 32 and it just occurred to me reading a post in "Coolest Guns" that if I were in the futuristic world of "Logan's Run," I'd be running for my life right now!  I remember being a kid and thinking that I'd crack some joke about the movie on my 32nd birthday, but I forgot (and I spent the day with my wife who wouldn't have had the faintest idea what I was talking about anyway).

I think a cool surprise for a hard core sci-fi fan would be to get two guys dressed as Sandmen to crash his 32nd birthday party.

Maybe not, maybe you'd believe that you could be renewed on Carousel and be dead now. Even if you did run, the sandmen were pretty efficient.

Either that or you'd end up in Box's freezer.

Yeah, but look at it this way.  If you lived in Gatlin you would have been sacrificed over 14 years ago.

And of course I haven't trusted you for over two years now.

Good idea about the Sandmen though.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

Dano, I don't know how to break this to you, but, you're already dead or two years past  termination, as the cut off point in the film "Logam's World" was your 30th birthday. Still, that's 9 more years then you get in the novel of the same title by William F, Nolan and George Clayton Johnson, where the  cut off point for termination was 21.
Still, the film was one of my favorites, when I was in college, if for no other reason, then it was filmed near where I was going to school at the time. Enjoy!

Sounds like you need to watch Free Enterprise.

Is that like "Free Willy" with a giant Starship?

Just watched "Logan's Run" this weekend.

For the most part I really enjoyed it, but I was a bit let down by then ending.  I get a bit tired of computers self destructing based on logical contridictions. This one was even dumber than most of Kirk's adversaries and I suspect that if Logan had just walked up to it and said "I'm a copper tea pot" it would have had a nervous breakdown.

Given that William Shatner co-stars in it, that's more apt than you think.

Huhwha?  Did I miss William Shatner in "Logan's Run"?

No, he's in "Free Enterprise."  (Slow down.  Chew your food.  Read your posts.)
