Another Anime review.
....Stars?: Don't know the voice cast, but they are good. I watched the Subbed, not dubbed version, btw. English dub was okey, but.....
....Plot?: Post war Japan, Alternate History version. Power struggles by various Governmant factions lead to violence and treatchery . Title group at heart of it all.

....Paintball in Japan is rough!
....Constable Fuse is of the Charles Bronson school of macho emoting.

....The japanese version of Little Red Rideing Hood. Not for the faint of heart.
....Perfidious Predators Plot.

Gotta agree with you on this one, Flange.  Great movie!  I picked up the DVD and don't regret the purchase a minute.  A must see for anime fans.  I believe Mamoru Oshii (GHOST IN THE SHELL, PATLABOR) was involved with this one.

I have seen a good bit of this with my friend Todd.  Ultra violent at times and the animation is stunning too.  It often reminded me of the scenes with Kaneda flying the hover speeder in "Akira."  We had watched several films that time.  I think my favorite was "Metropolis" from that anime night.

Looking forward to watching my new "Grave of the Fireflies" DVD.  Incredible film, but so sad.

The ultra violence is all the more powerful, because it isn't the primary focus of the movie.  When it comes, it is very shocking.

I taped the new METROPOLIS from Encore Action a while back, but I haven't watched it yet.  May have to cue it up for this weekend.

I did a mini review of METROPOLIS a while back. I love that movie. Go for it.

I've been wanting to see JIN-ROH, but the pricing for that DVD is insane.  I think it's $30 for just the movie, $50 or $60 for the special edition.  Too much for me.

I really liked METROPOLIS.  I saw it twice for its short run in the theaters here in Phoenix.  I also bought the soundtrack, which is fantastic (although it does leave out Ray Charles' "I Can't Stop Loving You").
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

dav

it is not bad pretty decent to other dark anime films good story line better version of red riding hood( I think i have a problem with graphic images i laugh at it `_' )
decent voicing for english if you listen csrefully one of the voices did Zoids
It has little action but more about drama.

It's highs
-good voice actors
-cool beginning
-Nice drama
-red riding hood not for kids versions

It's lows
-not alot action
-a little over exagerated
-feels a little imcomplete
-not very happpy
-short

bottom line
-Drama sci-fi people will love it action is dull. It's not bad of a choice better then Endless Waltz(ugh!). See it unless you have Cowboy Bebop the show or movie Knocking on Heaven's Door.
