It appears that Sly has decided to venture into the "direct to video" market.

I picked up the empty DVD case off of the shelf for "Eye See You" while at my local video shop yesterday.
I turned it over and read the synopsis on the back but decided not to rent it.

(I picked up Triple X instead since I missed it while it was on the big screen....it was ok...not great but ok...I want that wool coat he wears in it!)

"Eye See You" was never released in theaters, just straight to video.

I heard that it was actually pretty good.

Have any of you seen this and is it worth the $3 to rent?

Greywizard, The Unknown Movies

It opens surprisingly well, but once Stallone's character gets to the rehab center where the rest of the movie takes place, the movie becomes a mess in part due to a large number of poorly-defined characters and extremely bad editing.  Still, it's a definite improvement over what Stallone has put out in recent years.

Musukogoji

This movie was shot in 1999 (as "Detox"). Hollywood deemed it "Unreleaseable" and that's why it has yet to recieve theatrical release and went direct to video.

I'm convinced the reason Hollywood deemed it unreleaseable is because it's f**king good.

Fearless Freep

I didn't think anything would be considered 'unreleasable' to Hollywood

I saw it about a yea ago when it was released in my country, and I thought it was pretty good, without any boubt his best film since "Copland". My main complain was that the secondary roles had almost zero development. My DVD copy came with several deleted scenes with some more character development and I thought the movie looked better with them, but I guess the producers just wanted a fast moving film.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

This movie is crap.  Don't waste your time.  The beginning starts off mildly interesting with Stallone playing an FBI agent investigating a series of serial murders of cops.  An overly melodramatic explanation by the killer during the opening credits gives an exposition of his motive.  Apparently, cops interfere with Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest.  Our killer isn't too keen on law enforcement officers getting in the way of how nature intended things, so he has decided to kill them off one by one.  Or something like that.  A pretty big task if you ask me, but anyways....So, Stallone is investigating the case, and one of his cop buddies gets killed.  While at the crime scene, he gets a call from the killer at Stallone's front door.  Blah, blah, blah...The killer murders Stallone's wife, using a power drill through the eyehole.  This is shown when Stallone's cop buddy is killed but only alluded to in his wife's murder.  And the killer escapes.  So, things start off kinda interesting.  The wife, who seems like she will be a main character is offed.  Well, the movie basically turns into a slasher movie clone after this point.  Stallone becomes a drunk and then goes to a detox center for cops in a secluded location out west, where it apparently snows a whole hell of alot.  We're introduced to about 12 or so 2-dimesional characters at the center - other cops, doctors, and people working at the center.  They're all knocked off in quick succession, and it's apparently the overly melodramatic cop killer who is committing the crimes.  How the hell he knew Stallone was going to be there is never explained.  I think it's supposed to be a mystery who the killer is, but if you've seen one of these movies, you can guess it's one of the "people you would least likely suspect".  Some people live, some survive....Trust me, you won't care though.

The Burgomaster

Stallone is on his way to becoming the next John Saxon. Next thing you know, he'll be starring in cheap Italian slasher movies.

"How the hell he knew Stallone was going to be there is never explained."

Actually the killer was in the bar when stallone was confronted about his alcohol abuse, revealed in a flash back, and when the killer states that all he had to do after he overheard them talking about the rehab center was kill one of the cops on the way to the center and take thier identification.
