This is truly an historic day for me. I found an original copy of the Jo Don Baker masterpiece that is Mitchell. I was so damn excited when I saw that tape, I didn't know what to do with myself. I bought that sucker for $5.50, and it was good. I can't wait to see how it looks without Mst3k. Mmm!!!! This is exciting! (side note: this is my 22nd un-Mst3k'd movie I own, and the list still grows. Next to join the collection will be Operation Double 007) Anybody out there seen Mitchell in its pure form? I can't wait!!

Dr. X, Yyz, Sr. .

I've seen Mitchell. And yes, it's fantastic in "pure form". I still sing "My my my man Mitchell sometimes for no reason at all. As far as Operation Double 007 I've only seen the MST version.
But tonite good people i got a migraine watching a really bad one (to me anyway) called Primal Force (or was it Primal Fear) anyhooooo it stars one of my ALL TIME favorite pathetic loser actors, Ron Perlman. He's some renegade derilect that lives on an island inhabited by geniticaly mutated Baboons that kill and eat poeple. The migraine came from the camera work/editing. What's with all the Flashy/out-of-focus/wobbly s**t in between cuts???? Huh??? tell me!!!! or kill me!!!
And when will Mr. Perlman finally turn into an ape? He's always looked like one to me. That big forhead lumbering through the forest saving screaming girls (well ...2),
being attacked by boulde- throwing 5ft ,  250lbs baboons. God what a plot! yessssssssss!

1.  Funny MST fact, Joe Don Baker hates all the Brains and has threatened them with physical harm should he ever meet them.  I guess he isn't quite as cool as Miles O'Keeffe, who finds the Cave Dwellers episode hilarious.
2.  I thought I actually wanted to know where John Saxon's character went.  Turns out I didn't.
3.  I'm a fan of Ron Perlman, and his appearance in Blade 2 made it all the more fun.

You know, BR, I just read about the Joe Don Baker threat last night, in an old review of "Final Justice" over at Jabootu's. The review is for the non-MST version; I hope Ken Begg finally got to see the episode as it's one of the few that still airs BECAUSE APPARENTLY NO ONE WANTS THE RIGHTS BACK.

Baker's reaction is all the more crass for the fact that Best Brains treated him no worse than the script of "Final Justice" itself did...and wow, Begg really rakes Baker's fat ass over the coals. Mike and the 'Bots were merciful in comparison.

The review is a good read for those of us who don't watch the non-MST versions of these movies: turns out a lot of nasty stuff got cut from "Final Justice" that actually helps us understand certain character motivations better...although I still don't want to actually see those scenes. (Besides, I don't think I could watch any version that didn't have the 'Bots singing their own lyrics at the end. Priceless!)

Now I'm wondering if Baker's actually seen "Mitchell" as well...

Speaking of Ron Perlman, I just finished watching City of the Lost Children a few days ago, and thought he did a decent job as the big lumbering One. Fun movie to watch if you don't want to get a plot out of it. Watch it for its characters and sceneries.

I love the dune buggy chase.
Kneel before Dr. Hell, the ruler of this world!

Yee, hee hee.......a classic. Just one short of the "Coleman Francis" trilogy level. Ah well...
Primal Force : They do a remake/sequal, they should include Joe Don B. as a baboon with primitive language skills...oh, wait...sorry bout the redundancy.....
Am i the only one who has trouble watching some movies without the assistance of Mike or Joel and the bots? Some stuff it too foul to take strait, in my case.

Brother Ragnarok

Most definitely.  Final Justice is one of my favorite episodes, and Servo breaking into "Meat balls fried in LAAAARD!" makes me lose it every time.
The only thing I've ever seen that even they couldn't save is Sidehackers.  It's just the wrong kind of movie for them to do.  It's too gritty and depressing, and even the sidehacking song can't save it.

I saw the non-mst version of mitchell just a few weeks ago.  It's still a funny (aka bad) movie. There are a couple scenes that aren't in the MST version (probably clipped to make room for host segments).   It's a keeper, in my opinon.  Congrats on your find!

What?? Are you telling me that Joe Don Baker got angry over lines such as, "Well, he's no Claude Akins, but what a butt!".  hehehe.

The Burgomaster

I think that a good Joe Don Baker double feature would be MITCHELL followed by FRAMED. The scene of him naked in the prison shower threatening to poke a guard's eye out with a mop handle is worth seeing over and over again. Some people should not take their clothes off in front of a camera. Joe Don is one of those people.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Flangepart

Oh, man. Thanks for THAT image! Yep...a baboon with primitive language skills.....but is he housebroken?

Oh, check THIS out. Amazing. Beautiful.

Of particular interest: look for "Crow and Mitchell."

I've never before been tempted to buy artwork that didn't come with word balloons and sound effects ending in exclamation points...

Oh, man, that is so cool!
I'm rather partical to "Nightmads" myself.
