Anyone watch Antibody on Sci-Fi last night?

Ok, time for a typical "Did anyone watch..." type post...

Sci-Fi has been showing previews for Antibody for like 2 weeks now, making it look like a Fantastic Voyage ripoff, which it was, but it looked halfway decent. So I watched it last night...

The main plot is about terrorists planning to detonate a nuclear bomb and the control for it is a microscopic implant in one guy's body. Lance Hendrikson, Robin Givens and a couple others get shrunken so that they can defuse the detonator from the inside.

First comes the obligatory scene of Lance getting blamed for a bomb going off, which is quite confusing (how did an empty gun tell him that the bomb was going to go off?) and which sets up his character as the one with the troubled past. Then there are scenes with him talking to his daughter who has a thick accent, which have no bearing at all on the movie, except as a pathetic attempt to give his character some depth. Then there are the scenes with the reporter who crucified him in the media for the bomb going off, which also have no real point. The movie is half over before they even introduce the concept of shrinking a sub to be able to defuse the bomb from the inside. A few battles with white blood cells, a trip through the heart, the minor characters get killed off, Lance pulls the solution to defusing the bomb out of thin air, then he and Givens fall in love on the way out.

They should have gotten to the bomb plot in the first 10 minutes, improved the CGI effects and spent the rest of the movie inside the body. It would have made a more entertaining film than the half thriller, half Fantastic Voyage ripoff they ended up with.

The previews looked like absolute JUNK. I mean, there's only SO much that can be done...and done so many times...with a "shrink someone and put them into someone else" plot. FANTASTIC VOYAGE did it first and best, and INNERSPACE...which had its comic moments....I felt (at the time I saw it theatrically) was pushing it a bit. ANTIBODY just seemed plain silly and a waste because the limited concept has been done twice already. Got better ways to use my valued viewing time....

Didn't watch much of it, but what I saw...Lance has put on some weight as he's aged

I taped it but haven't watched it yet. Not sure I will. It comes from the same people who made DRAGON FIGHTER and frankly my tolerance for their movies is currently very low. I probably will watch it eventually though. From what I saw of the previews it just looked like a really lame FANTASTIC VOYAGE knock-off.

I forgot all about this, I'll watch it if I can catch one of the replays, but only because Lance Henriksen is in it. The last movie I watched with Henriksen was Mangler 2, I managed to sit through it so I think I may be able to handle Antibody.
