-Dog Soldiers Spoilers-

I saw Dog Soldiers last night and thought it was decent (my gf hated it, so it dragged it down in my opinion). Anyways, I felt they did an excellent job of making the werewolves brutal and all the characters were well done. The part where the werewolf shoves the sword into the soldier's mouth was excellent.

I was disappointed by how the werewolves actually looked, I think they should never have let us see them. It was disappointing to  see all the soldiers die, I thought at least one could liive. Other than that, it was fun.

However, I had trouble understanding the accents and I totally missed the secret about the woman. Can someone PLEASE tell me what her purpose was and why she was a werewolf??? All I saw was her eyes turn and she let them in, but I dont know why!!! HELP

-What movie-
I remember a movie a long time ago concerning monsters  who would pull pranks in houses through doorways under a bed. I remember they were hurt by light. Anyways, some kids befriend one of the monsters and for some reason go into the monsters world and escape again. Thats all I know. Thanks

SPOILERS:

I think the woman was hoping the soldiers would defeat the werewolves and help her escape the family.  She seemed to side with the winning team and as the movie progressed and more soldiers died she realized they didn't have a hope of winning.  So she let the werewolves in and sided with them.
As for the movie your looking for I think it may be Little Monsters with Howie Mandel and Fred Savage.

Yes, that is the movie, but is that really the explanation,

Anyone got more info about Litttle Monsters????

Actually, the lead soldier did live, and that woman was a member of that killer werewolf family.
And,those were the best looking werewolves I've seen on the screen since "The Howling",for they were raw and extremely vicious mothers that you could actually fear(espcially when they fought over the fleshy remains of that guy who fought the wolf to the bare fisted death).
Otherwise,it was another example of proof that the British(next to the Asians, mainly the Japanese)can still make the best kickass horror films from around the globe.

I still groan every time I think about the one female werewolf's last lines.  Let me see if I can remember the really bad one:

"Sorry, it's that time of the month."

Arrggghhh!

Mostly enjoyable besides.  The werewolves were some of the better incarnations of the moon loving beasts.

So if she was part of the family, why did she not turn with the rest of them, and why did she help the soldiers???

Also, the best werewolves I have seen (besides Lon Cheyney Jr.) were in An American Werewolf in Paris. I will admit these are the most vicious ones I have ever seen though.

Those are two of the larger plot holes.  She does say something like, "I thought you were my ticket out of this screwed-up family." at one point.  How exactly the soldiers could help her avoid the full moon is something of a mystery.  Why doesn't she turn?  Maybe it is something you can hold off on for a while, like a really bad itch.

i recon she just lured them into the house, and because the bullets did crap all, she fired a few shots at them to get them a little more p**sed off.

when the soliders were a little weaker she just let them in.

dog soliders is a cool movie

LOL!
Sorry about that, and the accents (Scottish, Welsh and English).  I found them quite easy to follow, but then I ought to, hailing from the UK.

From what I understand, the woman had come to the locality to study wildlife and had been "inducted" into the cosy werewolf family.  Not very willingly, hence her vindictive siding with the soldiers during the farmhouse siege.  Perhaps she hadn't *turned* because she didn't enjoy hunting and ripping things apart, as opposed to going to the shops to get food.  And at the end, if she hadn't let the werewolves in when they were winning, they might well have dined on her innards later.

Incidentally, and I'm surprised Andrew didn't pick this up, nobody in the UK - especially not in the Army - ever talks about "Special Forces" as they do in the film.  We say "the SAS", or much less frequently "the SBS".

I can't really had to anything to what everybody else has said, except to say, that the film was originally written as a trilogy. So, there might be at least two more after this one. Though, whether they are sequels or prequels, I can't say. I can say, that the next one is set to explain where the title of the first one came from.
