Just a few more facts about the short-lived T.V. series version of A MAN CALLED SLOANE in the hopes they may help your search-  Ji-Tu Cumbuka played Torque, the arm-guy, Dan O'Herlihy played The Director and the whole shebang was a production of Quinn Martin's QM Productions.  The preceding info comes courtesy of the book TOTAL TELEVISION by Alex McNeil.  My curiousity finally prompted me to look through some of my reference books.  Hopefully the name of the actor who played Torque will help your search.
