The worst movie I’ve rented in a while is “The Crow: Stairway to Heaven.”  I just don’t understand why a good movie was remade with bad acting, poor directing and awful writing.  At first glance, I figured “Stairway to Heaven” was a continuation of the original “Crow” movie.  Unfortunately, I realized it was more or less a premier for the short-lived mini-series.

First of all, Mark Dacasco’s lack of emotion doesn’t help an already mediocre cast and script.  His range of emotion goes from blank to blank.  Most disturbing is the way he delivers the lines that synonymous with Brandon Lee.  Lee conveyed a dark eloquence, while Dacasco says his lines as if rehearsing in front of a mirror.

There are other really stupid inventions:  Erik Draven TURNS INTO the Crow when provoked or angered, then turns back into a man.  How original is that?  Are we talking the Incredible Hulk in leather?  How is it that Halloween paint can suddenly appear on one’s face when angered?

More discerning is that Draven, who’s dead, is the owner of a bar â€" the main set.  Surprisingly, no one, including the police seems to care.

I didn’t go as far as watching the entire thing, but it was a pretty disturbing movie.

Suprisingly, no relative has turned up to take over the bar under the premise that dead people can't own property  :)

I caught a lttile of the T.V. show.  The black-and-white clown makeup that looks pretty ominous in the dark looks really silly in bright daylight
