The Brood

Uh, ok, so when a woman gets angry she gives birth to a monster child which kills the object of her rage.  Yeah, sure.  Cronenberg isn't at his best here; the movie felt like something he made just because he had nothing better to do.  The typical Cronenberg unhappy ending to this one really ticked me off.

Batman Beyond:  Return of the Joker

Awesome.  Great animation, great voice cast, great music.  Gets cheesy a couple of times, but manages to be the best American animated film I've seen in a while.

I have to say I really like The Brood, it's my favorite Cronenberg (next in line is Videodrome).  Evidently the source of his inspiration was a hellish divorce that he had just gone through, which accounts for the movie's over all light hearted tone.  He calls it his version of Kramer versus Kramer.

I have yet to see Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, but my kid sure liked it and love the show (especially the title credit sequence...groovy)

Stupid Jacob

Batman Beyond kicks ass three ways to sunday. It was pretty disturbing for a kids cartoon. 'Specially what happens to Drake.

"The Brood": I'm sorry, I cannot take Terror Incarnate, running around in 'jammies, seriously.

KjDog n Suds

Yeah they do look like Teletubbies.

Chadzilla

I've been telling everyone who would listen, and quite a few who won't, that whomever came up with the Teletubbies was watching David Cronenberg's The Brood while on acid at the time the idea hit them.

Squishy

From "The Simpsons": Bart, Lisa, and Maggie are watching the little freaks on TV.

Teletubby: "Tee hee hee...Hurt. Every. One."
Lisa: "Did Ga-Ga just say 'hurt everyone'?"
Bart: "Ga-Ga. Cute name."
