Wal-Mart has a sweet deal, supposedly they don't pay for the merchandise they sell until they sell it them selves. This ensures productivity and leaves many other coporations (target and K-mart) are left aloof and gained Wal-Mart popularity somehow, I guess they knew how to sell their material ala the scams and ploys that are in this thread were probably employed (that and selling souls to the Devil for success).

A lot of large retailers do business that way. They basically tell wholesalers "we will do business according to our terms, or we will take our business elsewhere." This often includes such benefits as 100% right of return on any unsold merchandise, and the ability to use "seasonal" payment terms. (For instance, Wal-Mart probably purchases Christmas cards in the spring or summer, but doesn't have to pay for them until 30 or 60 days AFTER Christmas. Plus, they probably have the rigfht to return any and all unsold Christmas cards . . . a sweet deal).

As for scamming the public, that is the fault of the people who design the packaging. Wal-Mart has nothing to do with how the cover of the Incredible Hulk DVD looks.

True.  I just noticed the other day at the local Meijer store that they also have "The Hulk" dvds out (from the tv series.)

Those Hulk DVDs are everywhere . . . Best Buy, Circuit City . . . they ALL have them.

I have seen 2 versions of the pilot episode on DVD. One has Bill Bixby & Lou Ferrigno on the cover and sells for about $9.99. The other version has a cover that looks like the poster for the new movie. It sells for about $14.95 (this is the one I bought). In addition to the pilot episode, it has a short interview with Lou Ferrigno, a sneak-peek at the new movie, and another episode of the TV show on the flip-side of the disc. It's the "Marriage of the Incredible Hulk" episode (or something like that).

I posted a message a while back about seeing a DVD in a store with the title of Max Magician and the Legend of the Rings, which looked like a direct ripoff of Lord of the Rings.
