All right, I have seen it a few times, and never has a trailor left me as cluelss as this one. This is strange because most trailers, like Spider Man 2, tend to reveal too much.

But what the Hell is The Exorcist: The Beginning going to be like.

I know it is the priest Merran's first encounter with an exorcism and the demon, but what more can they do. Every sequal I have seen (I believe 2 and 3 are the ones I have seen) are just unbearable and have lame plots.

We cant just see another exorcism, because we have seen this in the first one.

So what is this movie going to be? A jump out at you for scares horror flick, a retread of the original? or something.... unique?

One version of this movie was shot and in the can and the studio didn't like it, so they put it on the shelf and hired Renny Harlin to make a new one.  So I believe this  not a good sign that  it  will be a very good movie whatever it 's about.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Mr_Vindictive

Yeah, Trek is right.  It seems the original director when for a more psychological horror thriller and the studio was fine with it until they saw the final cut.

Then they fired the director, threw in Renny Harlin to spice the film up with more violence and typical hollywood stupidity.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

The Burgomaster

I don't think Renny Harlin is the right choice to direct a religious horror movie.  All I can picture is the priest throwing grenades and shooting machine guns at the devil.  But what do I know . . .

Paul Schrader  who also made the Cat People remake in 1982 directed the first version which was supposedly  in the same tone as the original Exorcist. Warners wanted more  "spinning heads and projectile vomiting" according to one article I read.

You will get to judge which one is best though. Schrader's contract supposedly had a clause that required the film to have at least one showing, so Warner Brothers is probably going to release it on DVD.

Man, this is depressing, still nobody knows how this film will be done, and Warner will then release 2 DVDs huh?? Somehow I think I will be screwed out of money.

I saw the trailer for it when I saw "Chronicles of Riddick" and it looked somewhat decent.

I actually like some of Harlin's work like "Long Kiss Goodnight" and "Cliffhanger" so I kind of look foward to Harlin's version of the Exorcist prequel.

I'll probably wait for it on video though.
