OK, I have a DVD stuck in my DVD player. What's the easiest and least damaging way to get it out? Please e-mail me if you can help.

Had the same problem with my "Don't Look In The Basement!" DVD

Had to take the case apart to get the disc out.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Lots of cursing and a baseball bat or sledgehammer!

Hehe....just kidding!

Actually I've never had that happen to me so I couldn't tell you how to get it out.

I have no idea if this applies to DVD players or not, but CD drives (some??) on computers have a spot you can poke something (a paperclip, maybe) into to release manually.  It may be worth a look in the manual for the player if you have it (or can look it up on the web), or quick email to the manufacturer of the unit.  There may be a quick fix.

Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

Don't know about DVD players, but when my VCR refuses to eject a tape, I unplug it and plug it back in.  It seems to reset it and then it works.

I had that happen to me. I really panicked because everytime  I touch something mechanical..it breaks. My husband told me to keep my hands off his stereo, the Dvd player etc. After hopping around like a moron I calmed dowm and poked a fingernail file in and nudged it back in place. It worked.

there is a hole on the dvd player that if you take a paper clip and straighten it and stick it into it, it should release the drawer

you can also try clicking on my computer to open it and then right click on the drive and then click on eject, if that does not work then try shutting the computer down and while it is restarting push the eject button.  If that doesn't work then try going into safe mode, just shut your computer down and when you turn it back on just start tapping the F5 key , it should give you options to got into safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with dos prompt or to start windows normally, just use one of the safe modes, it shouldn't matter really. and then try the eject button. and if that doesn't help then the hammer that was suggested should work fine.

My DVD player isn't on my computer.
But thanks for that bit of advice. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, no change. Wish I had some tweezers, I heard those work. I took the top of my player off and found a black box looking thing where the dvd sits. It's times like this I wish I was good with electronics.
