Great Escape - who would you be?

After the recent demise of Charles Bronson, I watched this mervelous movie and I started to wonder who I would be in the film, if given a choice? Steve McQueen is too easy - and besides, I wouldn't want to end up in the cooler at the end of the movie after all that work breaking out!

I probably would have liked to play Danny, the Tunnel King. He was a big part of the escape, and having to dig despite his claustrophobia made his character all the more heroic.

Anyone else? who would you want to be?

I couldn't tell you.

I've never seen it.

What's it about?
(obviously some kind of escape from someplace)

Don't know about WANT to be, but I imagine we've got a few like Colin 'The Forger' Blythe (as played by Donald Peasence) -- including myself.

And I figure we've also got a lot like Maggott, especially when he freaks out and turns on the homicidal glee.--- ooops, wrong movie.  (http://www.imdb.com/Title?0061578)

Amazing you haven't seen it yet. It is a classic POW movie from the sixties starring Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Donald Pleasence and a rather large group of actors who play allied POW in a nazi camp. The movie involves this massive escape (rather than having this few people escaping, they want to get as many people as possible out of the camp). There are plenty of memorable scenes as the characters plan their escape or as they later get scattered in different palces trying to reach freedom.

Expository information written, I'd be somewhere between Donald Pleasence (I'm a bit nerdy and little useful when it comes to action) or Crales Bronson, because I'm tough looking but I can get very anxious.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I'm nerdy enough to be Blythe, but I have touches of Louis "The Manufacturer" Sedgwick played by James Coburn. His "on the fly" passive aggressive attempts at escape before the true tunnel work starts reminds me of me.

Fearless Freep

I'd be the twelth guy in line.  Not really knowing quite what's going on but helping out and going along for the fun anyway

Somewhere between Blythe and Sedgewick for me, or possibly the Canadian Sedgewick picks a fight with as a distraction.

I'm just waiting for somebody to identify with Ives, or better yet, with Werner.

I'd want to be Hendly "the scrounger" as played by James Garner, the best role in the flick,IMO. Sadly, in real life, I'm probably closer to being Col. Von Luger.
