You know I've run out of things to rent in the Sci-Fi/Horror department, but maybe it would be possible for all of us to start a club where we exchange movies that we have purchased. I haven't thought out any of the details. Here are some neat films that I have in my library.

DVD's

Tombs of the Blind Dead
Return of the Blind Dead
Night of the Seagulls (Blind Dead III)
The Beyond
Killer Shrews
Screaming Skull
Plan 9 From Outer Space (with extra special with interviews of his friends and such)
Planet of the Vampires
Corpse Grinders
Horror Hotel
Last Man on Earth
Django
The Werewolf vs the Vampire Woman
Night of the Living Dead
House by the Cemetary
(and many more)

Sorry sold all my VHS, but I still rent them.

Fearless Freep

My whole library (all VHS) consists of:

The Quiet Earth  --oops
Pitch Black
Dark City
Godzilla Versus Monster Zero

Plus some Star Wars variations, Batman, and The Addams Family, I think

Yea, buying them  they tend to sit on the shelve, but it's neat to own them. For me it's either own every movie on the planet or none at all. But bringing a new hard to find film into the "club" would be your membership dues to exchange films. We would have a list of hard to reach films and once a year (or something) we would have to purchase a rare film for the exchange club. Andrew or someone could be the organizer.

mr. henry

i've got 750 flicks on vhs and dvd...but not the more expensive "collector" vhs stuff like Gabage Pail Kids, which i'd like to check out.

Well, for now I would like to see some of those hard to get and hard to find films. If I were to buy the collection that I would like it would cost me $50,000.

The Burgomaster

I have somewhere between 900 and 1,000 DVDs, and I'm not sharing them with anyone, mainly because I'm a no-good, selfish bastard.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Brother Ragnarok

While I think this is a great idea, I'm afraid I'm going to have to side with Burgo on this.  I have a hard enough time getting back movies I loan to friends who live 10 miles from me.  Not to mention I'm one of those neurotic types who has developed a way of reading new books that doesn't even crease the spine.  I think sending my movies through the mail would give me ulcers.

The Burgomaster

I let a buddy of mine borrow 2 porno DVDs about a year-and-a-half ago, and he hasn't returned them yet.

I hope he at least rinses them off for me . . .

I do that too. Most of my books look like they just came from the store. I loaned two books to a friend once and when I got them back they looked ten years older, creased spines, bent corners (not dog-eared, just bent), nicks in the edges etc. To top it all off, he told me he didn't think they were very good...
