Can anyone help me? How can I take screenshots from a DVD playing on my computer? Good old "Print Screen" doesn't seem to work for DVD's-at least not on my computer. Since there are plenty of screenshots on this site, presumably from DVD's, I thought you might know. Thanks for any help you can offer.

what program do you use?  i use power dvd xp and it has a capture screen function where you can capture images from the dvd and save them as a gif or something.  maybe your dvd program has a similar function

I found one that has a capture feature. Thanks.

With Windows systems (don't know about Mac & Linux) you usually also have to disable the video hardware accelerator.

There's a program called HypersnapDX that claims it will capture any Windows display. It's also supposed to be able to capture images bigger than the desktop, such as a web page that you can only see half of at any one time. It's not free though.

the caps are in bmp format.

anyway, if you experience any problem with the picture you capped looks effed up. you can solve that by doing the following:

"You need to get into the Cofig menu. Now Turn off Hardware Acceleration ( I believe its under the Video Tab. Make sure the DVD isn't playing or its grayed out). In the General Tab, there should be an advanced button - click it. In the capture menu change the capture ratio to current video window size"
