Have any of you seen the '61 movie Pit and the Pendulum?

I went to the internet movie database and they said it was great but I thought it sucked big time. It should probably be listed on this web site.

I know it's based on a classic Poe Poem, but it's got bad actors, cheep props, and is just plain borring.

Antone who likes this movie needs to have their head examined!

Get a psychiatrist! I need my head examined! I agree a slow first half, but, anything with Vincent Price and Barbara (they don't make them any sexier) Steele is alright in my book. Add to that direction by Roger Corman , a screenplay by Richard Matheson, and a great sound effect, as the pendulum slowly winches down toward Bill Kerr, who is strapped to a table beneath the pendulum.
Certainly, better (IMHO) then the stomach churning remake with Lance Henriksen.

The Pit and the Pedulum, while not very close to the original story, is an excellent movie.  Price and Steele are both excellent, and the rest of the cast is okay (which, for an AIP picture, is amazing.)
