MOTHER, JUGS AND SPEED (1976) - Saw this at the Drive-In during the 70's and wasn't crazy about it. Tonight Encore showed this on TV and I really like it now as this is a fun movie. Bill Cosby in the only film that I ever liked him in plays Mother, Rachael Welsh plays Jugs, and Harvey Keitel plays speed. Larry Hagman and Dick Butkis are also in it. I think I like it because its funny and it's a peek into 70's road scenes with the autos of the time. Cosby also rides in a suped up Ambulance van and they also use the older ambulance station wagons. There are some tragic moments and funny moments like the call for the guy stuck in his pants zipper.

Great flick.

I have never forgotten Cosby gunning the engine at those nuns....

Wasn't "Bringing Out the Dead" with Nicholas Cage somewhat similar, but not really as funny?

Professor Hathaway:  I noticed you stopped stuttering.
Bodie:      I've been giving myself shock treatments.
Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.
