I've just read about a movie that screened at Sundance called "Open Water" - it's based on a true story about a couple who go scuba-diving with a large group and get accidentally left behind by the boat in shark infested waters.  I'm definitely there when it gets released this summer.

Here's what Owen Gleiberman wrote in the new issue of "Entertainment Weekly"...

"One of the strangest tales in the history of independent film is the staggering number of people who flocked to see the Sundance hit 'The Blair Witch Project'...and hated it.  The movie wasn't scary, they claimed; it promised things it didn't deliver.  As a 'Blair Witch' fan, I was depressed by the extent of this sour reaction, but let me offer a countervailing prediction:
This summer, when a startlingly intense little thriller called 'Open Water' arrives in theaters, people will turn out in droves, much as they did for 'Blair Witch' - only this time, most everyone with a heartbeat will be teased, haunted, jolted, and scared to the marrow.
At the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, 'Open Water', which was shown out of competition, sounded like an act of sell-out heresy - an indie version of 'Jaws'.  Offering a digital-video variation on Spielberg's eye-level surface-of-the-deep dread, the movie drops you right in the ocean, along with a stranded pair of married scuba divers.  To reveal more would give away too much, except to say that 'Open Water', shot 18 miles off the coast of the Bahamas, achieves a primal terror.
The writer director, Chris Kentis, couldn't afford special effects, and so he used...real sharks.  Kentis works with a death-trap humanism matched only by his playful sadism.  I watched 'Open Water' with waves of anxiety rippling through my stomach.  It casts a spell of suspense, in part because there isn't a moment in it that isn't frighteningly real."

Sounds awesome to me - what do you guys think?

Thanks for sharing that.  I probably would have overlooked this one, but now I'll keep an eye out for it.
