When I was around 24 years old, I got the chicken pox.  I was working in a video store at the time, and I had my mother go to the store and get me a bag of movies to watch because I knew I'd be home all week.  I vividly remember lying on the sofa watching TRUE GRIT.  Even though I was sick, I remember really enjoying watching it.  I watched so many movies that week, but that one is still stuck in my mind to this day (after 16 years)!  I have seen TRUE GRIT several times, and I even bought the DVD a few months ago.  But I don't think I ever enjoyed it as much as when I was home with the chicken pox.

What is your favorite "stuck at home because you're sick" movie?

(Okay, this topic is REALLY a stretch, but it's all I could think of right now . . . )

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

I was sick last weekend and watched one that was a real dud that I purchased for $2.99. It was so boring that I didn't even mention it on the board. THE CAPE TOWN AFFAIR (1967) starring Jame Brolin and Jacqueline Bisset. The best part of it was seeing scenes from Cape Town, South Africa from 1967.

The last time i was REALLY sick I watched "Wild America" and found it to be enjoyable.

Once I watched "Destroy all Monsters" that one really made me feel better. Good action, not so bad story, lotza monsters, and some bad dubbing. Nice and easy on the head.

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

Bandit Keith from Yu-Gi-Oh the Abridged Series (episode 12)

Brother Ragnarok

I usually watch one of the first two Jurrasic Park movies, or as much of the Trial of a Timelord season of Dr. Who as I can get through before I feel better.

Brother R

There are only two important things in life - monsters and hot chicks.
    - Rob Zombie
Rape is just cause for murdering.
    - Strapping Young Lad

Vermin Boy

I remember seeing Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte on TV when I was home sick in 6th grade. Haven't seen it since, but it stands out as a very bizarre viewing experience.

I also saw the Brando version of The Island of Dr. Moreau last year when I had a massive headcold and was strung out on NyQuil. Again, I enjoyed it immensely!

My favorite "sick at home" film to watch is the Peter O'Toole WWII revenge drama "Murphy's War". For some reason that movie seems better than it really is if you watch it when you are sick or if you watch it after 10:30 at night.
