Okay - another Pacific Rim film makes the grade!

I borrowed this from a friend of mine that I corrupted into enjoying Asian cinema, and this one comes as close to a "comic book come to life" as movies can get!

The fight scene within the first 5 minutes of the movie is worth the price of a rental alone!

While the dubbing is pretty substandard, it's fairly easy to figure out what is going on. Nothing a grammar fiend couldn't fix!

Anyone else seen this one other than me and Skaboi? (just assuming he's already seen this gem, probably a mistake on my part)

While on a journey, Chuang Tzu found an old skull, dry and parched.
With sorrow, he questioned and lamented the end of all things.
When he finished speaking, he dragged the skull over and, using it for a pillow, lay down to sleep.
In the night, the skull came to his dreams and said, 'You are a fool to rejoice in the entanglements of life.'
Chuang Tzu couldn`t believe this and asked, 'If I could return you to your life, you would want that, wouldn`t you?'
Stunned by Chuang Tzu`s foolishness, the skull replied, 'How do you know that it is bad to be dead?'

I love Kung-fu flicks.  But I have not seen this one.

Lee

I've seen it. Didn't really care for it. The cgi city shots were cool but I didn't care for much else. Sammo Hung doesn't really do much. Yuen Biao has a pretty central role but doesn't really do much. I did like the cell phone gag. The premise is actually good it just isn't carried off as well as it could have. Did anyone else here know that this was originally suposed to be a movie version of Tekken. Do to legal problems thay had to make some changes.

Doesn't surprise me - with the anime-styled haircut on Meganova, it's kind of hard to miss.

Actually Neon, it seems I haven't seen this one.  Sounds pretty good!  I'll be sure to check it out soon.

Finally got around to renting Ninja Scroll a few days ago.  I'll have a review of it up soon.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Chopper - The Avenging Fist came out in 2000

Chopper

cool, the title made me think of a very 70's "chop-socky" kung-fu flick. i'll have to check it out sometime.

Ninja Scroll - now THERE'S one I am glad I didn't watch while the wife was around... Great movie, but the girl's defense mechanism was quite.....unique....
