Gecko Brothers

The following event is based on a true event. It took place at Southern California at 6:00 P. M. on March 23, 2004
.................................................................................................................................................................
My dad tossed this one in my face a while ago.
"Here you should like this crap!" he said.
"Well I'm going to watch my crap!" I screamed typical idiot adolescent.
He slaps me. He tells me to go watch it.
It was the Texas Chainsaw Massacere.
My dad only handed the first disk.
It only had links and some pretty cool trailers.
The movie was rather disgusting, like when Leather Face slaps salt on leg stub.
It was disgusting but not gory.
We got a leg chopped off, an arm, and a head blown off.
The story was stylish and gritty.
The best scene is in Blair Witch esque to show police evidence and a BW tape.
If you believe this is true then you are dunber than me.

Actually the movie is actually a pretty decent rent, though I wish I could watch the special features. Yes, it is true this is actually disgusting but not gory, then again none of the Chainsaws are that gory. This however is not "the scariest movie of the year" though, which shows that most reviewers don't know what they are talking about. Only once did the film kinda shocked me, and that was the end. If you think about it though, it is pretty unrealistic. The actors are okay. The costume isn't that cool as the origional. If your looking for another new movie with rednecks that aren't ninjas, hot girls in tank tops, and some shock. This is for you

PROS: Fun, Great ending, style, a girl in tank tops.
CONS:Not so gory, a lot of the origional is missing, kinda stupid.
BOTTOM LINE: Fun Disgusting Slasher featuring Rednecks after days of Wrong Turns.

Braving the horrors of the video rental line!

Well after finally seeing this for the first time last night, I thought it was terrible. Totally watered down, such a dissapointment, I really hated the characters and couldnt wait for them to die, they looked too much like the MTV generation for a movie set in the 70's, actually quite a few parts of the movie were filmed as if it was a music video. I felt there was very little atmosphere, no feeling of dread, nothing made me jump or had me on the edge of my seat like the original did. I found the violence didnt have the same savagery and intensity. I hated it that there was a build up to violence, showing things lurking in the shadows, that spoiled any surprise. I didnt like leatherfaces personality either, bleh!!!
Overall it was too slick and just had nothing going for it. The only good stuff was when you see Jessica Biels in a white wet singlet, she has great tits :)

Gecko Brothers

Yeah pretty much but still I think it makes a good rent.

Brian Ringler

While no Jim Siedow, I loved R Lee Ermey in the new version.  That line he says while they are wrapping up the dead body is hilarious.  "She's a little wet down there, what have you guys been doing to her" or something to that extent.  Still the movie left me expecting so much more.

Dunners

actually Eermy ad libbed that line. hes a really great character actor. the movie wasnt bad but it really needed more too it.

Pros: f**king beautiful cinematography, great direction, and some good acting

cons: too predictable, not very scary, annoying actresses,  script needed more too it and it was a little too short.

save the world, kill a politician or two.

I thought that the Texas Chainsaw massecere was an awesome movie! The best part about it is that it's based on a true story.I don't care if other people don't like it I personaly loved it!

odinn7

Yeah, it's based on a true story...so was the Blair Witch Project.
The only thing it is based on is some of the things that Ed Gein did, nothing more.

You're not the Devil...You're practice.

Gecko Brothers

He chopped corpses to lamp shades and made a mask of human flesh. The victims were aready dead and buried. He was a grave robber

jmc

Gein killed two people, as far as they know.  But yep, most of the masks and other things came from corpses he'd dug up.

The original TCM was only very loosely based on Gein....Hooper had relatives in Wisconsin who would tell him stories about a killer up there and he used some of that for his movie but he didn't know the name Ed Gein or the actual facts of the case while the movie was being made.

Gein fans will want to check out DERANGED and of course, ED GEIN....

I thought it sucked! The original is so much better. It never should have been remade! I liked the zoom-out shot through the girl's head when she shot herself, and seeing Jessica Biel wearing hip-huggers and a tank top. That was it. I think there is some documentary about Ed Gein on the special editon. I'd like to see that.

jmc

It's a pretty good documentary, about 24 minutes or so I think.

The making-of documentary is over an hour long and the first 10-15 minutes gives a pretty good overview of the original movie, including the distribution problems.  Once they start talking more about the making of the re-make it bogs down.
