Glad you got back in harness, Andrew!
Hoo, boy...this is ripe for riffing.
Notice at least two of the cast were in REPTILICUS?
The capt. (He of the terminaly flared nostrils), and i think Swvend..od svend, or how ever...
Yeah, those guys....
Frozen brains, tranquilised sock puppets,....boy, that one impressive resume.
But, on the other hand, the gals were easy on the eyes. My kinda gals! I like 'em like my pancakes...Not too thin, not to thick...juuuust right.

I knew that the Commander had been in "Reptilicus," but somehow missed the other guy.  Dang - time to watch the rubber snake movie again.

For some reason, the women in this one didn't do it for me.  Maybe it was the "vamp, but innocent" look they seemed to be trying for.  From that era, I'd rather stick with the one girl from "The Crawling Eye."

Maybe it is the fact that I knew the women in the moviewere really creatures spawned from the hellish mind of an alien devourer of worlds...sort of kills the mood for me.

It's more than just coincidence on the casting...

Both JOURNEY TO THE 7TH PLANET and REPTILICUS were written by Sidney W. Pink and Ib Melchior, and Sid Pink directed both as well (he was the American side director on REPTILICUS).  Apparently they enjoyed working with the same team.

Nice job on the review, Andrew.  I'm always happy to see a new one from you.

Sidney Pink directed the first 3D movie Bwana Devil in 1952. He also produced and wrote the Angry Red Planet,  which was directed by Ib Melchior.

I found an article once about his adventures making movies in Sweden and what they went through with this film and Reptilicus. I tried to find it again to post the link but had no luck turning it up.

I was always disappointed by John Agar, he had a promising career in A movies.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Now, see, Andrew...i could make that demarcation twixt film and flesh.
And such nice fle...Ahem!....i mean, such well rounded young ladies....
Poor John Agar....
When i saw "Night Fright", i just coulden't stop with the Alimoney gags.....

This was pretty much an entertaining film, but oh boy was it bad.  Between the overacting, silly monsters, and the almost moronic script I was kept on my toes the whole time.

Did anyone else notice how the evil space brain seemed to like to hear himself talk?  I guess Uranus gets lonely after a few thousand years.

I wondered if anyone else would thinka that....

I bought JOURNEY TO THE 7TH PLANET with INVISIBLE INVADERS. It was ok, kinda like an episode of Star Trek or Twilight Zone. Some of that 60's color and atmosphere was neat.
