Sam rami sells out

 Spider-man looks really stupid. I have seen the costumes and they look like something from the70's. Green Goblins suit looks like they stole it off of the set of batman and robin. Hes truly in this peice on comic book crap for the money.

Hmm...one of the few comic-to-film adaptations that looks interesting, aside from The Crow (the ORIGINAL), Spawn, and X-Men (admit it...you liked it)...and you say Raimi sold out? Let's see...you're a low-budget horror film specialist, with such titles as Evil Dead behind you...in all honesty, your best work was with a friend from Detroit by the name of BRUCE CAMPBELL...and you wouldn't want to direct arguably the most anticipated comic-to-film adaptation since it was announced that X-Men was going to be made into a movie?

I saw the trailer for Spiderman, it looked pretty bad...still, an director would love to get involved with such a film..I think Drezzy is totally right.

 I've gotta disagree with you on the idea that Sam Rami has sold out with the upcoming Spider-Man flick, Josh. While I do share your opinion that, from the few released shots of the Green Goblin I've seen [All two of them... from a distance...while the actor is just standing around waiting for his next scene...], he looks nothing like the comic book version, it seems to me that Sam Rami has made some respectable efforts to keep the movie true to the original concept:

The original idea that was being considered for Spidey's costume [As designed and painted by the incredible Alex Ross. He's got the pics on his site if you wanna check 'em out .] was an "updated" version that, like the Batman movie suits, paid homage to the original design but was otherwise radically different. However, somewhere along the way the decision was made to keep Spider-Man in his classic outfit. The only, minor, change is that the suit now also sports a subdued textural pattern to make it slightly more insect like in appearance. [Although, personally, I would've stood up and cheered during the trailer if it turned out that the suit they were using was the black one from the Secret Wars series!]

In a respectable move that I have NEVER  heard of any other director of a comic book based film even being willing to make, Rami actually compromised with fans over his much debated "organic webbing" treatment and incorporated the necessity of Peter still having to be brilliant enough to design his traditional web shooters in order to control and direct his webs....Unlike Tim Burton who, upon encountering the clammoring opposition to some of his decisions about Batman,  didn't even care what actual fans thought.

Those, to my knowledge, are the only real problems that fans have had with Rami's take so far, with the exception of an earlier script treament that seriously changed Peter's entire nature, both in and out of costume. [In that bit of misguided hackery Spider-Man is much angrier and revenge driven...gee, where have we seen that idea before?... And, at one point, Peter crouches in a nearby tree to spy on Mary Jane while she's changing clothes.] Thankfully, that variation of the script has long since been scrapped and Peter will be pretty much the same alienated nerd that he's been in the books.
