I was trying to clear a tape so I could tape SON OF BLOB last night and i found a neat film called I MARRIED A WITCH which must be a 40's film. I found myself watching the film and liking it. You can see were ideas for TV sitcoms like I DREAM OF JEANIE and BEWITCHED may have come from. Great little film if you get a chance to see it. Veronica Lake stars in this fun well made movie.

I am glad you enjoyed the movie. I was not quite as fond of it, as you, when I saw it
on cable television in October. Robert Benchley--apparently--can only be funny if he writes his own material. I thought Cecil Kellaway was miscast as the villain. Veronica Lake is a star and not an actress. That leaves the acting up to Fredric March. And he has been better in better things. Still I am glad you liked it.  But,  you are right. "I Married a Witch" did give rise to "Bewitched," which I thought was better. If only for the cast. Elizabeth Montgomery as the witch. Dick York ,then Dick Sargent as her husband. Agnes Moorehead as her mother. Maurice Evans as her father. Marion Lorne as her Aunt Clara. And Paul Lynde as her Cousin Arthur. All sadly deceased now.
