COMEDY OF TERRORS (1964) - Starring Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Basil Rathbone, and Boris Karloff. Saw half of it this film. It was ok, but it is a comedy. Always neat to watch the stars of this film, but this film didn't interest me to much. Funeral guys trying to bury a guy who isn't dead yet is funny itself. I'll try to catch the end of this next time it's on.

CHERRY 2000 (1987) - Caught a little bit of this a couple weeks about and was enjoying it till I had to leave the house. Some kind of post apocolyptic world starring Melanie Griffith. Fun character and fun movie. Hope to catch it on TV again.

"Comedy of terrors" (or in german: "Theater des Grauens") is not funny all the time and one has to like Vincent Price (or Shakespeare) to find this movie really good.
But there is one scene I and everyone of my friends I forced to watch it really enjoyed: vincent´s (or the vincent-puppet´s) "40-metres-superman-forward-dive"
- It´s a scream!

s**t, the movie I ment is called "theatre of blood".  Comedy of terrors Í haven´t seen yet.

Scott,

I've never seen Comedy Of Terrors, but if it has Price in it then I'll probably end up checking it out.  Sounds interesting.

Cherry 2000 is quite a strange film.  I remember seeing it when I was much younger back on HBO in the late 80s.  The full story is about a guy who has a robotic wife.  One night they are doing it on the kitchen floor when the dishwasher overflows.  Water goes everywhere and the android is ruined.  He hires Griffith's character to find him a new one, exactly like his old android.  This is hard to do being as the production of her model was discontinued.  Overall it's a seriously horrible film, but fun anyway.  Hope you can catch it and watch it all the way through.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

"Comedy of Terrors" is uneven but still enjoyable if you like the Corman/Poe/Price AIP films. I prefer it to "The Raven" (another uneven AIP Poe comedy), I laughed more when I first saw it, and for getting such a great cast of horror stalwarts together in a black comedy. I love that Price and Lorre have been reusing same the coffin for years, and the scenes with Rathbone's cataleptic landlord waking up in strange places. Nice touch with Joe E. Brown's scenes. If you like the AIP Poe films, I think you've said you do in other threads, just treat it as a big inside-joke for the fans.

I've seen parts of "Cherry 2000" a few times over the years, never held my interest enough to want to watch all of it.

Yea, that part with the reusing the coffin was funny and them trying to keep dead.
