i love this flick...2600.org...yeah, the white hat hacker quarterly and website archiving the radio show outof new york...great info on privacy, politics, lockpicking, hacking, etc.

the video documents the whole KEVIN MITNICK fiasco where he exposed a security flaw in a corporate site, did no damage or espionage and yet was thrown into solitary on incomplete charges for 8 months and then serverd 8 years. when released could not use phones or computer chip gadgets for probation term.

2600 encourages copying of the dvd and webcasting (as long as no profit is made) the dvd is translated into 23 languages and is a superb documentary on the hysteria built on lumping criminals along with hackers. withought whom we'd never be able to rip our own dvds and watch them on our pvp's

check this thing out. i don't think netflix has it. 2600.org sellsit for about 20 bucks. full of commentary, interviews, and an extensive interview with mitnick himself.

see the protest against miramax who was scheduled to release a movie CONDEMING mitnick as if he had already been convicted. after nearly ten years they are silently releasing it with name changes in europe and it will be on dvd here. totall fear factor propaganda.

i can't recommend this doc enough!!!!!!! no i don't work for 2600.org

for those not in the know 2600.org and the subsequent atari 2600 here named after a captain crunch whistle that was capable of producing a 2600 mhz tone that would get you into the phone company system to make free calls from home and pay phones.

mitnick spent 8 FREAKIN months in solitary on a bogus charge. no pencils, no paper, no books, no human contact, no phones. the feds were convinced he could start WW3 from a payphone...WARGAMES anyone???

EMMANUEL GOLDSTEIN (revolutionary publisher of 2600.org...the HACKER QUARTERLY) includes a lengthy bonus interview with mitnick. also on the vid are such visionaries as writer BRUCE STERLING, author of THE GREAT HACKER CRACKDOWN:LAW AND DISORDER ON THE ELECTRONIC FRONTIER... a great book released in hardcover and softcover and also released by the author into the digital domain for FREE!...the book is basically about the crackdowns in CHICAGO  by the feds bustin any kid with a pc...the book is great, starts by explaining the history of the telegraph system and subsequent phone system in america as the internet prototype...the phone companies only hired women because young men and boys were to prone to EXPLORE the SYSTEM!!!!

the protest outside of MIRAMAX is priceless...the geniuses who produced TAKEDOWN based on mitnick's rival hacker TAKASHI who even claims mitnick attacked him in a dark alley...has he seen mitnick???...so the protest in front of MIRAPAXil is pretty funny...for a movie that backs fatass MICKEY MOORE they sure did everything they could to shut down the peaceful protest...good thing the group had a lawyer present.

WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rewrite the DMCA, screw the MPAA (the kid who developed DVD ripping has now been cleared twice in...where is it, DENMARK???)

REOPEN THE COBAIN CASE --- cobain had THREE times a lethal dose of heroin takin INTRAVENIOUSLY, after ten seconds he wouldn't have known his own name let alon lift a shotgun to his head, shoot his brains out, and then WHIPE THE PRINTS OFF THE GUN...he had also rewritten his will less than a month before to remove courtney and papers were in motion for a divorce. the "suicide letter" makes no mention whatesoever to death, no mention of a goodbye to his beloved daughter. at the bottom in DIFFERENT handwriting were four lines alluding to suicide...the best handwriting experts...including an independent investigation by UNSOLVED MYSTERIES also came to this conclusion. two weeks before his death, kurt made courtney return a LEXUS because he was embarrased by the display of wealth in his homestate of washington. this is all documented. google TOM GRANT- - - the youngest man to ever become an LA sherrif's department detective who was contacted by courtney to find kurt days before his death when he went AWOL from rehab...she fed GRANT disinformation about kurt sightings. GRANT has spent millions of his own money to reopen the cobain case! HOLE sold no records until one month after cobains death when hole headlined lalapalooza in nirvana's place. NOW WHO'S GETTING PLASTIC SURGERY and KISSING HOLLYWOOD's ass? Courtney told Rolling STONE that she "owns the holy grail of rock and roll" - - -and she earned this how??????
