Yesterday after work, I plopped my ass on my bed and watched three movies.  And here we go:

First off, I watched All of The Black Mask (If you haven't seen my previous thread, check it out) and what i said still stands.  However, one more thing I learned is:
I guess in China, it is legal to steal pints of blood in your local blood bank.

Second, I watched THE BEST anime ever (well it's the best in my collection), Akira.  The animation goes without saying.  From the tumbling of the bikers off their bikes, the gross metamorphesis of Tetsuo.  Everything in this movie is too good for regular adjectives. 5 slimes

Finally (especially for you Andrew, since you didn't review this, and i'm not rushing you if you really didn't) I watched this movie (late 70s or early 80s) called I Spit in your Grave.  About this writer who get repeatidly raped and sodomized by four guys in the countryside.  Then the wither gets revenge in the worst way.  In one scene, I'll put it to you this way, Lorena Bobbit was NOT the first one.  And from what I seen the actress who played the writer has probably the hairiest bush in movie history.  Side question, which actress have you seen in movies (mainstream too) have got the hairiest bush.

Well that was my saturday night (I work in the morning) what do you think.

I Spit on Your Grave rules.  One of the most uncomfortable movies I've ever seen.  This cool NYC band, Alice Donut (R.I.P.), sampled the hanging scene on their first album.  It sounds so gross.....awesome.

Do you have the Akira DVD?  The transfer makes the great animation even better.

Andrew

I must say, "Akira" has always been near and dear to me, but "Nausicaa" and now "Princess Mononoke" are my favorites.  The only thing missing from the special edition was the original English dub... ...curses.

"I Spit On Your Grave" is indeed a horrible (as in it inspires a horrific reaction) film.  Watching the early parts just makes one feel dirty, then her revenge is enough to cause any man to cringe.

Yes Akira is one of the better Anime films. But in my Book Ghost in the shell,
is THE biggest manga film ever made. The story is fantastic the animation simple beautiful, and ii hasen´t got all of this crappy baby manga s**t with big sweat eyes, f**kebal schoolgirls or insane disney like charachters.

I Spit on your Grave is a great movie.  It is sooooo harrowing and disturbing.  When she gets revenge on everyone I find myself saying "go sister!"  I mean yeah it's graphic and gory as hell, but those guys totally had it coming.  That chick in the movie was on that show on comedy central called Don't Forget your toothbrush, she was the classmate of a contestant or something.  She's pretty old now, I hardly recognized her.

"Akira" is good (wrong..Akira is great) but I second the vote for "Ghost In The Shell" in terms of quality of animation and artwork

"Perfect Blue" and Princess Mononoke" also have great artwork and animation

One other comment, Perfect Blue is not just a good anime, it's a very good movie that happens to be an anime.  The plot and story and characters are interestinng and deep enough to rival any 'live' movie out there.

Perfect Blue is indeed a great anime.  Now talking about manga , a terreible manga would be THE ULTIMATE TEEACHER. Why , I have watch it three times is beyond me . Maybe because the story is hmm, I really don´t know what the story is about. Or what the higher meaning with this anime is about . Anyone please inlighten me.?
