Brother Ragnarok

A number of films?  Brother, are there ANY films you don't want to remake with an all-midget cast?  I know about you and midgets, man.

There are only two important things in life - monsters and hot chicks.

Rape is just cause for murdering.

Talk to Scott about the dwarves, but only if Lithuanian . . .
Whether or not "Kwai" was historically accurate isn't so much the issue, I think, as is the fact that it's a David Lean film & not to be trifled with.
BBC remade Pasternak's "Doctor Zhivago" for TV, and it really was quite good in parts, but Lean's work . . . well, how many want to see a remake of "Lawrence of Arabia"?
Yeah, this sounds abominable . . . Can't wait to see it!!!

I was watching "The Fugitive" last night and realized "yeah, remakes can be done well"

Of course, coming back to this thread and thinking if an all midget cast...hmmm...I can just see Dr Kimble and the Marshall facing off in the tunnel and then Kimble making that jump...with midgets

The premise of the Holden character was that he was a Very Petty Officer who was on a liferaft with a Commander after their ship was torpedoed.  He switched uniforms when the Commander died and took the (very relatively) easy treatment of a POW officer in preference to what was done to the enlisted men.

So if this remake goes forward, I'm sure Smith will be a cook or pursor (that's all a black sailor could be in the Navy in 1941) and it wouldn't be too unbelievable for him to be on a ship that gets sunk and taken prisoner by the Japanese...  I just hope they include a scene where Smith convinces the Japanese that he is the Navy's first black Commander.

Jason Statham will be the British commando leader who teaches Smith the ways of jungle warfare and in turn is taught to get jiggy with it.
