Popeye would beat the Nazis back down into their submarine turret, and each time they came up for a "Seig Heil!", there would be a fart sound when they went back into the turret -- they showed this cartoon a lot on Channel 5 in Washington DC in the '60's.
Also, all that muttering Popeye did was sometimes revealing:  He'd be in a scrape & you could hear him say:  "Eh, it should happen to Hitler!".

I was just about to say a bunch of stuff on this topic when the site dissapeared for awhile. The compartment in the bench of my Grandparents' piano used to have sheet music  to "Der Furher's Face", but I don't know what became of it. I've got a tape of some old Superman cartoons, including Japoteurs and one where robots turn into airplanes like in "Sky Captain". I don't know if it's in good shape or not though, I've been keeping it in my car, which is probably not a good place to keep video tape. The backstory is different in them, Superman was raised in an orphanage instead of by the Kents.

To clear up a few things.

The Abbott and Costello movie was "In the Navy" from 1941.

Max and David Fleischer were brothers. Max Fleischer did have a famous son, director Richard Fleischer, who directed any number of films, including some for Disney Studios.
