BOOT HILL (1969) - This is a unfunny Spaghetti Western starring Terrence Hill, Bud Spencer, and Woody Strode. The whole film is about a guy who stops a mining company from grabbing all the land and somehow a circus is involved throughout the film. Some of the scenes were ok, but it was like rather  bleak cross between a SABATA film and Fellini's 8 1/2. Well, I finally viewed the last of the TRINITY films starring Hill and Spencer.

BOOT HILL was actually made before either of the TRINITY movies and is not part of the TRINITY films. Since it stars both Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer, it is often, mistakenly, included as part of the TRINITY saga. It is a strange little Western which was probably what modelled Spencer's later characterizations in the TRINITY films, as his character is similar, although Hill's character is not the light-hearted character he usually plays. This film does turn into the usual free-for-all in the climax as we are used to seeing in TRINITY films, with some actual touches of humor; but too little too late.

One of the contemporary TRINITY films I like is ALL THE WAY BOYS in which they play a pair of Soth American charter pilots. It has the usual goofiness we are use to with this duo, but also has some strange elements to it, including some oddly serious moments.

Thanks Menard for the info. They always sold them in the 3 packs. Now that you mention it I thought BOOT HILL didn't fit well with the other two. Terrence Hills best film is MY NAME IS NOBODY and I'm not really a fan of Bud Spencers. Woody Strode really had a larger role in BOOT HILL than in most of his other films.

That was Strodes era and it seems as much a vehicle for Strode as for Hill.

I agree, MY NAME IS NOBODY is one of my all time favorite Westerns and my favorite Terrence Hill movie.

I don't care too much for Bud Spencer on his own, but I do like him when he is working with Hill. They work well together and he has that perfectly annoyed look when he has to deal with Hill's character. (:
