CURSE OF THE DEVIL (1973) - Very good Paul Naschy Werewolf film equal with Lon Chaney Jr. portrayal for Universal. Good sets, decent story, and the Werewolf is well done. You won't be dissapointed if you like your Werewolf films. Now I just have to see Hammers CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF (1961) some day. Netflix doesn't have it.

SADOMANIA (1981) - Jess Franco directs this prison film where everyone is topless all the time including the prisoners, guards, warden, and at moments even the govenor, so you know what your getting into before you search this one out. Moments that I can remember are the pin poke and the rubber alligator. You also have the Ajita Wilson who also was in ESCAPE FROM HELL (1980). All good enough reasons to not see this film. This film can be past by without missing it. I think I only have two more prison films that I want to cover before I give this genre a rest.

Oooh, the cover of the werewolf flick looks kinda creepy. I've never heard of that one. Enjoy.

Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

Yea, its a good one from Spain. CURSE OF THE DEVIL is a bit better in some area's than one of Naschy's other Werewolf films THE WEREWOLF VS THE VAMPIRE WOMAN (1971). Both are good.

One of my favorite Paul Naschy films is HORROR RISES FROM THE TOMB (1973).

FURY OF THE WOLFMAN (1972) and EXCISMO (1975) are decent films also.

I have one more Paul Naschy film coming next week.

The Burgomaster

CURSE OF THE DEVIL is good, but WEREWOLF SHADOW (aka THE WEREWOLF VS. THE VAMPIRE WOMAN) is far superior.  I bought both of them when they were first released on DVD.  I also have HORROR RISES FROM THE TOMB, which is hilarious (a "decapitated" Paul Naschy, who obviously has his head stuck through a hole . . . a cheesier "headless" effect than THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE, if you can believe that!)  The DVD of HORROR RISES FROM THE TOMB actually has 3 different versions of the movie on it (including a version in which all the nude scenes are replaced with scenes where the people are dressed!)

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

They  are both good Werewolf films. Each better than the other in different ways. I'd have to see them back to back as it's been about 3 years since I saw WEREWOLF VS THE VAMPIRE WOMAN.

My copy of THE WEREWOLF VS THE VAMPIRE WOMAN is part of a KILLER CREATURE DOUBLE FEATURE put out by Madacy Entertainment. The other film on the double feature is THE SCREAMING SKULL.

I like the opening scene in HORROR RISES FROM THE TOMB and also the classic horror music and the dubbed dialogue.
