Interestingly enough, I also have "Burning Bridges" in my MP3 rotation, along with "All for the Love of Sunshine" and some other tunes from the Best of the Mike Curb Congregation CD I've had around since the early 90s. Had to order it special, as I recall. Mike Curb is one of my guilty pleasures, due in no small part to watching Kelly's Heroes over and over and over ever since I was a kid.

For that, I can thank my oldest brother, who was always a fan of westerns, war pictures and cop movies of the "Dirty Harry" variety. Needless to say, he joined the army at 18, moved on to a career in law enforcement and has always been an avid hunter. He has one of those houses where dead things are always staring at you from the walls. Big fan of Clint Eastwood and The Duke. I owe my taste in action movies at least partly to his influence, and my taste in Sci-fi, kaiju, 50s b-films and comedy to my other brother, who is more technically oriented. My sister was more of an influence on my taste in music.

Now I feel like watching Kelly's Heroes. I don't suppose it's any less appropriate for Christmas viewing than the year I spent Christmas Day watching Dead-Alive, Maximum Overdrive, Death Race 2000, and the like.

No negitive waves for me!
Love the theme song, the acting, even the ersatz Tigers. Oh well, at least the turrets look right.
It's the suspension gives them away. The T-34 Christie torstion bar suspension.

The 'negitive waves' joke was used in an issue of the comic HIT MAN, when the 'hero' and some buds take out an african dictator who has two meta humans for protection.
What do they use? A Tiger tank, natch.
