SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS (1964) - This is actually was entertaining to a small degree. The film starts off with a catchy theme songs "Hooray for Santy Claus" which I know I won't be singing throughout the day tomorrow.
Most of you know the plot here as Mars decides to abduct Santa for the children of Mars. Two earth kids get taken along for the ride and all get kinda homesick before the end. Some of the memorable parts of the film are:

1) Theme Song
2) Air Force sending Jets and B-52's up after the Alien craft.
3) Stock footage of Airforce, NASA, and the U.N. in action.
4) Polar Bear
5) Robot
6) Voldar (the bad martian)
7) Mrs. Santa getting zapped
8) They give you typeset Lyrics to Theme song at the end of the closing credits.

Lyrics for SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS theme song:

Hang up that Mistletoe
Soon You'll hear Ho! Ho! Ho!
On Christmas Day
You'll wake up and you'll say
Hooray for Santy Claus

S-A-N-T-A C-L-A-U-S
Hooray for Santy Claus
You spell it S-A-N-T-A C-L-A-U-S
Hooray for Santy Claus
Hooray for Santy Claus
Hooray for Santy Claus

I didn't get to inflict this cruel torture on anyone during the 2005 Holliday Season.

I made the Hollidays miserable for everybody in 2003 & 2004, but this past Season, every party I went to, people brought board games, karioki machines, even BellyDancers & BAGPIPES!

Anything they could do to keep me from playing this movie!

Eh, maybe that's why I actually enjoyed the Hollidays this time around... Well, that & my new medication.

Say, has anyone ever considered reviewing Santa Claus (1959)? Santa runs the world's biggest third world sweatshop, he doesn't smoke, he won't touch milk & cookies, and he's trying to lose weight. And every Christmas, he has to match witts with a ballet daning demon who's trying to make the children of the world misbehave.

Hmm... maybe I should take a crack at it. I've already come up with a witty idea for that scene where Santa tricks Billy's parents into drinking the magic cocktail of rememberance.

One interesting tidbit: A good deal of the same B-52 stock footage was also used in Dr. Strangelove.

Funny thing, but I was watching Jay Leno last night, and in this footage from some writer's convention, some incoherent sounding dude was trying to pitch a screenplay for a movie called Santa Claus Vs. The Aliens. The plot sounded a little different, but then I had a hard time understanding what the guy was saying.

I seem to recall coming across a listing on the imdb once saying that somebody did a remake of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians back in the late '80s, but that listing is gone now.
Or maybe I'm remembering it wrong. Maybe I'm thinking of that remake of Morozko starring Dan Haggerty.

Gosh. So many odditties, obscurities & baddities, that I'm starting to lose track of them all.
