I recentlly picked up a peice of christian propaganda called The Grim Reaper, and enjoyed it pretty well. It's about a family of a good, christian mother and son, and an EVIL! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL!!!!!!! father and his son. The son dies in what can only be god hating him, and goes to hell. And it's all his fathers fault. Because his father didn't raise him right. And then the father goes down the path of very naughty, encounters a cliched satanic medium, some bad special effects, and eventually, Jesus. Course his sons still in hell. Kinda a little loose end there. The movie is also drenched in southern accents, even when they show bible scenes. Also, only baptists are REALLY saved. In the movie, non-churchgoing people, and non-baptists, even if they were christian, OPENLY SAID that they did not accept jesus. Did the people who made this movie seriouslly think that most of America, even christian america, was openlly against jesus? Anyhow, absurd, weird, movie about how your going to hell. Good son ironically looks exactlly like Paul Mcartney (probablly spelled wrong). Just wondering if anyones seen it, and suggesting it to anyone who hasn't.

Also, whats with kids today? This isn't some kinda thing where a middle age person wonders about those young-un's. I myself am only 15. But when I look at my peers, I see nothing but a bunch of people watching whatever crap holywood comes out with, not even trying to find new, interesting crap, every movie with some ugly photoshoped cover when it comes out on dvd instead of a peice of art, a real peice of art, as was used in the old days to sell things like revenge of the dead and land of doom. The joy of the B-Movie is lost on my generation. And that sucks. By proxy, my generation sucks.

I am honestlly very very sorry. I apologize for all the other young-uns who don't know what they're missing when they only laugh at the cover of robot monster instead of renting it.

The Grim Reaper, eh?  Sounds like a fun view.  I love these old "warning" films like Reefer Madness, Blood On The Asphalt, etc.  I'll have to try this one down.

Thanks for the review Squeak.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

You don't have to apologize for your generation not realizing good trash when they see it. There are plenty of people in all generations that don't understand the fun of good trash.

I'm 50 and most people my age can't tell good rubbish when they see it either. It takes real intellectual types like us to really appreciate the true art of the B movie.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

i think you can still order it-while the movie itself was from 77, the video and video box were pretty obviouslly new, the cover created in a computer progam of some sort. I don't have the video bxo with me, which gives some contact info. Also in the same "series" (which were made by Ron Ormond and his son, his sone being the paul look-alike) nare The Second Coming, which i saw , and while it's not as funny as "The Grim Reaper", as it has very little in the way of plot to laugh at, and better special effects, it still has it's moments, like the dead literally EXPLODING out of the ground and dissapearing, and the quote "they're not dead. They're up in heaven with jesus". Also in the series is The Burning Hell, (anouther "your going to hell" movie) and If Footmen Tire You, What Will Horses Do?, which was an anti-communist film. Before making moralistic christian films that seem to think that christians are a minority contantlly hideouslly oppressed by a hoard of christ hating people of varying denominations, he made exploitation films in other veins, such as The Monster and the Stripper and Girls from tobacco road.

so yeah, ill try to get contact info from the video, although im a little dissapointed that i found this info online. I was kinda hoping i had found some kinda undiscovered film. Thats my ultimate dream. To find an undiscovered film, and furthermore to find one worth seeing.

jesus, I've gone on way too long.  Heres a reveiw, i think it will be a little more informative and less wordy. http://www.brainsonfilm.com/reaper.html

and thanks for the assurance that kids these days aren't the only ones who have no taste beyond the average. Still, i can't help but feel that some day these films may be forgotten forever, and that would be a crime.
