I saw this movie when I was in high school in my Spanish class. The movie was in Spanish and I'm pretty sure was a Spanish/Mexican production. It was a really weird movie about this guy who had a daughter and for her birthday he bought her a toy monkey (No, I'm not thinking of Merlins Shop of Mystical Wonders, but it was kind of like that monkey story). Well, somehow the girl died unexpectedly, meaning she had the toy, then fell down and died. So the guy buries the daughter.
Cut to seven years later and because this is Mexico, the cemetary is closing or something. So people are going there getting their dead realitives and the guy goes to get his daughter. He finds that she hasn't decomposed and looks like she just died yesterday. Everyone claims this is a miricale and tells the guy she should be made a saint because of this. So the guy and the dead daughter fly to Rome to meet with the Pope and the movie gets weirder as the guy carries around his daughter everywhere he goes, even buying her new shoes and going to restaurants. He stays with this Opera singer who can sing such a high note, glass shatters. Well, the high note somehow brings the daughter back to life and they continue as if nothing happenened. That's all I really recall of the movie, since it was so weird.
So I was wondering if this sounds familar to anyone and if they know the name of it. It'd be appreciated.

Sounds really odd!  I mean, nobody on the plane thought it was odd this guy is carrying around his dead daughter?  No idea for the film name though.  Neville, you're our resident Spaniard, ideas?
