Looks like Lucas got the slap of the day!

CHECK IT OUT HERE

OUCH!

If the series must revolve around characters from the movies then it should Solo and Chewie in their younger years.

But I'm more for, new characters in a different time period.
Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

I'll definitely check it out, but I have low expectations.

"The series will be set between episodes three and four of the film saga.
It would cover the 20 years in the life of Luke Skywalker growing up that remains a mystery to most film-goers. "

Really? Huh, I heard it wasn't going to have any of the major characters from the films (except maybe in cameos) and it was going to focus on smaller, more "character driven" storylines.  (Whatever that means.)

I was mainly hoping GL would hire REAL writers to do the series, especially if he hopes to draw us on it based on (gasp!) storylines rather than special effects and action sequences.

I swear if it weren't for the rogues, bounty hunters, and general scum characters I wouldn't have ever been interested in Star Wars. They are the most fun out of the series.

Why not Rogue Squadron? I like the X-wing stories...

There's also supposed to be a long-running, 30 minute, animated series on the drawing board.

I'm stilll frustrated over Lucas ignoring the potential of doing a young  Han Solo series over a young Skywalker series. I mean, a 20 year-old Han seems more interesting. We could see the Millenium Falcon, a "younger" Chewie, new planets, etc. No offense to Luke, but a rogue pirate like Solo is so much more appealing.
