The Lady Killers (1955) - Bucktoothed Professor Marcus (Alec Guinness) rents a room from kindly old lady Mrs. Wilberforce (Katie Johnson). He explains that his string quintet will be practicing there.  Marcus is really planning a armored car robbery with his "quintet" (which includes Peter Sellers, Herbert Lom, Danny Green, and Cecil Parker).

They trick the old lady into unknowingly helping them, but later she finds out what they have been up to. When they decide to knock her off it seems that none of them has the heart to do it, which leads to well.... if you haven't seen it I won't spoil it, but I will tell you the score.  Old lady 60,000 -bad guys 0

Guinness does a very creepy, but amusing turn in this one.

This movie was remade in 2004 by the Coen brothers with Tom Hanks in the Professor Marcus part.

Soylent Green (1973) - It's the year 2022, the greenhouse effect has taken it's toll on the overpopulated world (New York City now has 40,000,000 residents). There is little food, so most of the world's population is fed by the Soylent Corporation.

When a former Soylent executive is assassinated Det. Thorn (Charlton Heston) is put on the case. With the help of his "book" (a police researcher), portrayed by Edgar G. Robinson, he learns the shocking secret of Soylent's new food product.

Everyone here should know how it ends, even if you've never seen it.

One thing about the future portrayed here, luxury apartments come equipped with a "furniture" girl.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.
