Critters 1 and 2 had the eighties without that the movies afterwards weren't so good. At least the fourth had the weird twist, and a bit more acceptable usage at that, of putting it in space.

Even as a kid I took #4 after #3, and #2 I had only seen parts of on TBS and #1 I hadn't seen until my Freshman year of high school. So as a kid all I got was the third and fourth movie for Critters.

#3 takes place in a apartment and god I forgot how annoying Frank the maitanence guy was. So I was glad when he died and provided to us about 50% of the body count. Yep low body count in this one. Charlie shows up with a pretty cool shotgun thing and kills off some Crites. Leonardo DiCaprio is in it and eventually a somewhat neglective dad learns the importance of family or something like that by the end of the film.

I'll say this at least the monsters look good here and good old Charlie was in it.

I'll give it 2/5

Later tonight I'll at least be watching for the first time John Carpenter's "Assault on Precinct 13" and then re-watching "Batman Begins"

When I was younger, I found those films sort of grotesque, now I just think they belong in the Charles Band stable of "flicks"...alongside the Puppet Master films There were a few funny moments in the first one... uh, is the third one in a rundown slum or something? Or is that critters five? Does it really matter?

Critters (the first) is the best one.  The second one is an acceptable time-waster.

Critters 3 is awful.  I've never seen Critters IV.

Yeah #3 takes place in a apartment ,Plain Horse.

I agree Akira the first two are entertaining, then 3 and 4 fall on their own plane of lesser skill but the fourth is better than the third.

Thanks... I only remember thinking how the third made me wish I was watching that crappy "Batteries Not Included" movie. I remember the scifi channel showing a lame ad for Critters three, and wishing it would show Godzilla movies instead... it's nice to see how things have come around.
