LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE (1974) - Good zombie production from Spain shot in England. You might even be able to call this one a  "scary" zombie film. The cinematography is very good and all the zombie parts are well done. The lead male character is a bit annoying, but it's the English countryside and that little blue car that keep you watching early in the film. The funny thing about this movie is it starts out showing the city and pollution and during all the pollution city cuts you have this naked lady running across the city street catching a cab or something and nobody pays attention. This moment has absolutely nothing to do with the film and doesn't involve any of the characters. Then later we discover the cause of the zombies rising has nothing to do with pollution. Still it's a good zombie flick made even better by this seriously unrelated opening scene. The film kinda takes us back and expands on the NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD during the cemetary scene at the beginning.

I love Let Sleeping Corpses lie.  One of the absolute best zombie films to come out after NOTLD.

I believe I saw an interview with the director a while back where he spoke about the scene with the naked woman running through the traffic.  His explanation was that it was supposed to be a social commentary.  Everyone is so caught up in their own routine, that something as outrageous as a naked woman running through traffic in a city doesn't even register with them.  Not sure if his idea worked, but it does add a bit of weirdness (and nudity) to the film.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

I have a VHS tape of this movie, retitled simply the LIVING DEAD, but it ssms to have been drastically cut...I'm curious as to why in the early 80's that import horror films were edited so badly.I've heard its a good film, but the version I have is incredibly tame for a zombie flick.

Yea, I finally saw it. It's been on my list for about 4 years now.
