Alright guys,

So as you may or may not know... I've recently been named manager of a video store in DE. So I'm trying to do alot of things... the video store is pretty mom and pops but the last owner/manager wasn't into sci-fi or horror movies at all!

Basically our horror/sci-fi section is a disgrace (example... we have all the saw movies and hellraiser films but nothing by troma and only 1 nightmare on elm street film and 1 halloween film) basically I'm trying to make us have a really impressive B-movie section so I was wondering 2 things

1) anyone give me suggestions of films to see if we have because we've got so little that I don't even know where to start on ordering films

2) If you're form the general area... you should come and rent from me and give me advice or just talk to me (pathetic yes... but it's a very low traffic store right now and I get lonely lol)

Thanks guys!

Andrew

Where in DE?  I am in Baltimore and often come to northern DE to visit my sister.

Jordan, webmaster of the B-Movie Film Vault  is in PA, but I think he's in the northern parts. However, he worked for years at a video store, so he probably has all sorts of insight, ideas and stories on that front. I wonder where he is....

JORDAY!!!! :teddyr:

Andrew, I've only been to Baltimore once, but I have seen the docks there far more than I ever wanted to.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

I can definitely stop by there sometime.  Maybe not this month, but July should be feasible.

Jordan should be a wealth of knowledge.  While I've always been interested in DVD rental stores, I do not know some of the rules.  For example:  can you just buy any more and then rent them out?  I am assuming so, but assuming is not always a good idea.

Another thing is that we do not know your customers.  Will they like classics such as "Robot Monster" or would real classics along the lines of "Forbidden Planet" be a better choice?  Do they like "Evil Dead 2?"

How about a few classifications to start?

It Came from Outer Space
The Thing from Another World
Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Clash of the Titans
Beast from 20,000 Fathoms

The Valley of Gwangi
Jason and the Argonauts

CLASSIC B-MOVIES
Plan 9 from Outer Space

You'd love our selection if you have a VCR... we have a giant Archves room that's literarly thousands of Horror/sci-fi films (i made a b-movies wall recently) but we're thinking of selling the VHS tapes that we can get on DVD and turning it into a "Special Interest" section with Documentaries, Stand Up Comedy, Cult Classics, Indie Films, Horror Movies, Foriegn, War, Western, Sci Fi and Concert videos
