Bad idea, in my opinion.  Any thoughts?

Well you got my attention.  Without a doubt in my mind, it should be a lot of more interesting and actually fun to watch than the first one.  As long as we bring back Torgo and correct that creepy pedophilia vive from the first film's ending, I think we should have a good showing.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

I'm by no means in favor of creepy pedophilia but I think that was one of the things that made it memorably awful.  I'm not sure something like that needs to be "corrected," any more than Torgo's odd speach needs fixing.

If they do a sequel, I think they should use the title the crew thought of while making the movie: MANGOS, THE CANS OF FRUIT.  And have the Master and his underlings run a fruit canning business as a front for their sacrificing/dog killing/wife-fighting escapades.

Or putting the goat leg appliance on the right way 'round.

Hope they don't give Torgo proper goat legs, using CGI or something. The enormous knees were part of his appeal.

I doubt anyone who loves Manos enough to make a sequel - particularly one involving people connected to the original - is going to bastardize the material by trying to improve it. They understand what makes it a cult classic.

The guy who's doing this is a great Torgo impersonator: http://www.torgolives.com/

My problem is that all of his portrayals so far have all been parodies.  I can't imagine this guy doing a relatively straightforward sequel.  What I'm seeing in my crystal ball is something along the line of SCARY MOVIE, only based specifically around MANOS.  That's why I'm not so jazzed about this.  But I'll give it a chance if it comes out.

Nukie 2

That Torgo impersonator should totally make a Torgo soundboard for his website!

Can you imagine the possibilities?

Telemarketer: Hello Mr. Manos?
Torgo soundboard: I'm Torgo I take care of the place while the master is away
Telemarketer: Would he be interested in changing his long distance plan?
Torgo soundboard: The master wouldn't approve!
Telemarketer: And why is that?
Torgo soundboard: The master wants you but he can't have you,I want you!

A sequel is a much better idea than a remake, so they are already deserve more credit than many big-time Hollywood film-makers.  If this gets off the ground, it will be interesting to see.  They would have to ride a fine line to capture the magic of the original.  I hope it doesn't end up being "tongue-in-cheek," or one of those purposely bad movies that looks like a purposely bad movie trying too hard to be funny.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

This would be awesome if pulled off right.

I agree with the Rev., I'd expect a parody from this guy.  He's obviously a comedian.  The secret of Manos was the utter ineptitude of every aspect of it, all put forth with such complete genuineness.
