I forgot to mention "Rocky and Bullwinkle" in the thread about good animations from the 60's.  R&B fits the bill, imo, since that show is eminently entertaining.

I was watching an episode on DVD today with my daughter, and Boris Badenov was talking about 'torturing' Americans by piping in 30 minute - 3 hour commercials disguised as movies.  It was funny that he thought that by the time Americans noticed they were watching a commercials all the time, it would be too late.  He even mentioned one for hair tonic specifically.

Did they have infomercials in 1960, or was this strangely prescient of the makers of R&B?

Professor Hathaway:  I noticed you stopped stuttering.
Bodie:      I've been giving myself shock treatments.
Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

The first long-format commercials were from the Popiel people, I think -- and it seems to me these didn't come on the air until after 1972 or so --
I could be wrong, as ever, but that's how I recall it --
Boris Badenov was psychic --

I have no idea what this means.

R&B are timeless. Something about the voices/jokes/characters/plots...it just works.
