yeah Nathan Schiff's stuff is z-grade trash cinema, you'll either love it or hate it, I've never seen reviews that are in between. Haven't seen Weasels myself yet but Long Island Cannibal Massacre and They Don't Cut the Grass Anymore I have, I love his tacky no-budget gore. I must be the only Schiff fan here :teddyr:

You are definitely opposite me on that one.  The stuff is so low budget that I can easily find other films of the same quality (and often better) just by checking independent and student projects.  I have never been able to get into the no-budget stuff.  Well, not entirely true; if they put some effort into it, then I can.  The problem is, many of these literally seem to be people with video cameras, operating with no script, and they created all the props in one afternoon with some spare parts in the garage.  Mark of the Astro-Zombies dipped down into that same mess.

I remember he used purple painted cloth as gore haha in They Don't Cut the Grass Anymore. I like how he goes over the top with the effects, they're so unconvincing but he doesn't shy away from gratuitous amounts of it and lets it splatter everywhere. Yep, there are student movies that have way better gore quality-wise, but I find Nathan Schiff's stuff strangely charming cause his effects are something most filmmakers would be too embarassed to seriously use a single second of footage on.

Death Row Diner had far worse gore I think, even worse than that Mark of the Astro Zombies movie. There was a scene in Death Row Diner where literally a $10 latex mask from a halloween store tried to be passed off as a decapitated head, it was so lame.
