Heck, I like VHS too. If you can find a movie for a buck or two, it works for me. I have a 20 inch TV, so VHS looks fine on it. You can also still find titles on VHS which have not made the transition to DVD. There is also the occasional title like Doctor Butcher M.D. that is on DVD but not in that cut; I like the hokey beginning and slightly better pace of the theatrical version over the DVD version. And let's not forget some of the cool and sleazy cover art, which sometimes had nothing to do with the movie.

Cheap VHS is cool.

I not adverse to VHS at all, you can get some good deals.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Yeah, I still have the discontinued "MST3K: The Movie" and "The Misfits" VHS tapes!  Sometimes VHS rules...

And for those of us who can't afford a burner, or even a computer...luxury.

Obliquely, this reminds me that I need to dump my ancient VHS copies of Steel and Lace and The Stepford Children to DVD (via my wonderful Toshiba DVD recorder/DVR).  Assuming my VCR doesn't eat the tapes...

Ah, VHS... I won't rag on DVD's- sometimes I'm a sucker for bonus features- but I grew up on VHs and it'll always hold a special place in my heart. I consider myself lucky to have found an old VHS version of "King Kong vs. Godzilla" last year. I still puruse them now and again. I keep running across Bert I Gordon films a lot lately...
