I don't know if I've been doing too much research lately, but this piece of trivia penetrated what passes for a brain in me:

On the commentary of Shaun Of The Dead, director Edgar Wright says that Shaun's surname is Riley. Fact.

George A. Romero is an admirer of Shaun of The Dead. Fact.

Simon Baker's character in Land Of The Dead is called Denbo, first name Riley. Fact.

I wonder if Mr Romero named Simon Baker's character after Simon Pegg's character?

If this isn't true, it should be.  :teddyr:

Joe the Destroyer

It's possible.  Simon Pegg did make a small zombie cameo with Edgar Wright in Land of the Dead.

Torgo

I never had made that connection before but that's  interesting.

All I know is that I like both films a great deal.

I like them both as well ~ another weird connection is that neither of these films were shown in cinemas here and I had to wait for VHS and DVD before I could see either of them. You would think that our local cinemas would want to show two critically acclaimed hits, but noooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Instead, we sometimes get drek that shouldn't have even been released onto Super8 film, let alone onto cinema screens.  :hatred:
