Anything by Joe Lansdale is quality.  He gave us "Bubba Ho-Tep"

I have Writer of the Purple Rage, the short story collection that has Bubba Ho-tep, Godzilla's Twelve Step Program, Incident On and Off a Mountain Road (made by Don Coscarelli into a film also, for MOH) and even weirder stuff than all that.
