When labcoats speculate.  Am i the only one who splits a gut when, out of the blue, some scientest , after comming across a weird, strange, bizarre life form or event, that does NOT conform to any known scientific principle, comes up with a hypothosis that lands right on the money, and explains not only what the Kaiju/aliens/mad scientist wants and is Tokyostomping/Bimbo kidnapping/ creating mutants for...but knows just how to Stop them? When that happens i can't help but yell at the screen "Oh, how do you know!? Your guessing, admit it!" How many films take that cliche and stand it on its head? "Killer Klowns from outer space"? Can't think of any better then Pierce Brosnen in "Mars Attacks". Brosnen loved the fact his character was full of  Bovine Scatology! Well, what yould you like to see happen to these "Science Psychics?" Stand em' on their heads, guys, lets see what happens!

Funk, E.

I don't see very many of those. Most of the time the story involves figuring those types of things out. The silly ass part about it as LIZ at "And you call yourself a scientist!" likes to harp on is the completely ludicrous "methods" used to creat, discover and/or nutrialize the threat with. The whole "Gene splicing" causing interorganism changes that don't destroy the organism and radiation making thing get big and silly stuff like that.

I loved the explanation for Space Godzilla in "Godzilla v. Space Godzilla."  The whole "must have gone through a black hole" thing cracks me up.

I'd like to see a scientist be COMPLETELY f**king wrong.

Scientists: These zombies need to be stopped by injecting them with THIS syrum (sp.?) and then be slapped with a wrench.

**hero injects zombies with syrum (sp.?) and then slaps them with a wrench, only to find the zombies get twice as strong, twice as big, and twice as fast**

Scientist: Oh...forgot to carry the 2...

Gotta love the all-knowing scientists of the 50s and 60s.

The other cliche I love to see is the generic "scientist" who must have a universal degree from Ubiquitous University or something. He's an astronomer one minute, a physicist the next, and a biologist later on (or whatever he needs to be). I just sit there asking "What is this guy's specialty again?"

Funk, E.

Don't you know... Ubiquitous University offers a full docterate program in "Science!" Specialist need not apply.

Hummm....a Pile It Higher and Deeper at Ubiquitous University, where all the Mad Scientests hang out in the basement, and the Dirk Hardslabs hit on the Intelligent chicks with good figures. Actualy, that sounds like a take off on  "Ninja Highschool" Could be fun, if ya' survive!

Ya know...it's kinda funny that have of the "parody" or "sarcastic" stor ylines people post here are *much* more interesting than most of what I've been watching recently
