I love the transformations.  Best part is Optimus Prime breaking that bad Kung Fu pose near the end of the trailer.  I'm juiced for this one, it looks like a really fun summer movie.

It's the Exclusive at the top of the page.

I'm interested in seeing it, but boy does Bay worry me.  Still, it will be nice to see the movie made and aimed at more of an adult audience.

Hey, a question, Trek.  Was the thread title intentional?

If almost any other filmmaker than Michael Bay was attached to this movie (well, other than Uwe Boll, Joel Schumaucher), then I would be excited.

I just hope it doesn't suck, trailers can make almost any movie look good.

I remember that the trailer for the 1998 Uma Thurman flick The Avengers looked good, and then we all know what happened with the actual movie.

I see each new trailer in the hopes that I'll start giving a s**taki about the movie and it's still yet to happen. I'd like to say my apathy is solely caused by the wretched burning disgust for Michael Bay that flows through my veins like so much venom and magma, but even if his name were magically replaced by somebody else's, I still can't help but look at the robot forms of the 'Bots and 'Cons and feel absolutely nothing. I know it makes more sense to make them look "realistic" (as realistic as giant transforming robots can look anyway), but every one I've seen so far has lost all of the personality of their cartoon counterparts. By killing the humanoid faces and otherwise simplistic designs from the 'toons, they just look so cold and sterile and no better than any other giant robots. The icing on the vomit cake? Optimus Prime's paint job includes those effing retarded "hot rod flames" that make me want to hurl a brick at every idiot teen that still thinks putting those things on their sh!tbox cars makes them "cool"... I'm gonna pop a blood vessel if I continue on this rant, so I'm just gonna power down now and walk away.  :hatred:

As of right now, after seeing that trailer, I'm applauding.   :hot: :hot: :hot:

Yep, I guess I got carried away. My bad, sorry.

Spielberg is producing this movie, so I'm not too worried about it.  This is exactly a Michael Bay type movie, explosions and car crashes are the guys stock and trade.  This is based on a cartoon aimed 10 year old boys, I'm  not looking for Shakespeare here.

Indeed, the film will probably have a weak script and so-so acting at best, and if it weren't for the fact that the robots transform, this wouldn't be Transformers, it'd be Rock' em Sock' em Robots: The Movie. But hey, I never watched the original cartoon, so I've got no problem if the names are the only things connecting these live-action robots with the cartoon robots.
