In another discussion here came My name is Nobody a humorous Tribute to the Western Movie as a Topic and I thought that mvies taking a bow tlo their Origins can work rather well.

I thought of Galaxy Quest which is verything good in sci-fi series and spoofs everything stereotype without demeaning it.

Or Heat Vision and Jack which is a perfect tribute to 80s TV

I wonder what other movies could be listed as intended Tributes and did it work?
To have no ideas and to express them

In a sense Matinee was a tribute to the giant monster flicks of the 1950's, with its movie within a movie, Mant. Plus, it was a tribute to people like William Castle, who came up with so many cool gimmicks to get people to the theater.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

I've always thought of "Bad Taste" as a kind of anti-Star Wars: The House flying through space is the anti-death star, Lord Crumb is the anti-Darth Vader, Giles is the Anti-Princess Liea. George Lucas would have made something more like Bad Taste in '77 if he would have tried a little harder.
Raw bacon is GREAT! It's like regular bacon, only faster, and it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth!

Popcorn is a great tribute to the William Castle style films.  While putting on a showing of vintage 50s horror films, the characters implement smell-o-vision, electric chairs and giant mosquitoes.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Well, I guess GRINDHOUSE would be an obvious one, eh?

Obvious, yes. ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL? Also yes.

It's seriously a crime that more people didn't pack the theatres for this one. I can't remember the last time a full price ticket felt worth every penny.
"Do you have something against droppings?" "Well, no, I..." "Sure, everyone says that till they step in it."
