I rented this  "killer giant croc" movie expecting a campy rehash of LAKE PLACID.  To my surprise, this movie featured a much stronger story, better acting, and some intriguing characters.  The croc looked a little more fake in the movie's closing scenes, but for most of the film he was a menacing and realistic presence.  All in all, this was a pretty watchable movie, and not as predictable as such films sometimes are.

Menard pretty well covers what I was going to say, except I'll add a couple of things. (1) I was quite impressed by the cinematography. And (2) I liked the film's comparision of the two main villains in the film: the one who walked the land on two legs, and the one who swam the water on four legs.
